When choosing your perfect wedding venue there's a few things you should consider:
1. How many guests do you want?
Is your wedding going to be small? Only closest family and friends or are you inviting
everyone you are friends with and work with? Your answer may make it easier to decide on the location or venue. Are you going to allow children at the wedding? If so, you
should think about their safety, the surroundings ect. If relatives are elderly, can you expect them to make it safely to the beach or walk many stairs? You will never be able to please everyone, but these are some things you can think about when choosing a location.
At the end of the day should you choose the venue that YOU love the most. People are
adaptable.
2. What's your budget?
Are you having a big or small budget to spend on your venue? Keep that in mind when looking at venues. Find out what the venue has to offer and compare it to other venues.
Some venue's prices includes for example your decor and flowers where it's excluded at
other venues. Do your homework on what different venues have to offer for a certain
price. Remember the cost of the venue might not be that much, but that's not your only
expense for your wedding. All the other small things add up to a big amount.

3. How much work are YOU willing to do?
Depending on the location, you may have to do a lot of the work yourself. Before you commit to an “I do”-it-yourself undertaking, think about the following:
* You might have your heart set on an outside wedding. That means if it rains that day you
should have a backup plan. That can cause a headache for you. It also means you should
have chairs or something for the guests to sit on both at the ceremony and the reception.
How are you going to decorate if it's outside? If you have a lovely bushveld setting at an
outside ceremony then there's not too much decoration to be done.
* At the reception: Do the venue have staff members that's going to help with decorations
before the time and cleaning afterwards? Maybe you have a wedding planner that takes
care of all of that for you.
* Are you doing the flowers yourself? Or are you appointing someone to do it for you?
* Wedding favors: Are you going to make favors yourself or buying?
* Do the venue include tables, chairs, cutlery ect? Or do you need to make sure all those
necessaries will be at the venue on time? Sometimes venues do not have enough tables
and chairs for weddings and they or you need to hire extras in for that day.
* Do the venue provide enough light? Or would you need to hire some extra fairy-lights ect?
There's millions of things that need to happen when planning your wedding and when choosing a venue. Maybe it's a good idea to have your wedding checklist with you when looking at venues. Write down or tick off what the venue will provide and what you will need to do yourself. That should make your decision easier at the end of the day.
4. Distance.
Are you planning a destination wedding? Is it your big dream to get married in another country? Are you getting married in your own country but in another town? You should think about distance when choosing your wedding location or venue. When it comes to arrangements with the venue will it be things you can discuss over the phone? Or will you need to be at the venue when making decisions? Is the location in a place or distance where most of your friends and family will be able to attend? You should also think about how much it's going to cost your guests to attend your big day.
